Uganda

The first NDC submission of Uganda contributes the most to SDG 15 'Life on Land' (19%) and SDG 7 'Affordable and Clean Energy' (17%). For SDG 15 the highest contributions relate to Target '15.1 Conserve, restore and sustainbly use inland freshwater ecosystems' (47%) and Target '15.2 Promote sustainable forest management and expansion and halt deforestation' (42%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Wetlands protection and restoration' (39%) and 'Forest management' (13%). For SDG 7 the highest contributions relate to Target '7.2 Increase share of renewable energy' (58%) and Target '7.3 Double the rate of improvement in energy efficiency' (29%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Clean and renewable energy' (28%) and 'Energy efficiency' (24%).

The updated NDC submission of United Republic of Tanzania contributes highly, among others, to SDG 13 'Climate Action' (17%) and SDG 2 'No Hunger' (13%). For SDG 13 the highest contributions relate to Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (81%) and Target '13.1 Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related and natural disasters' (13%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Early warning systems' (26%) and 'Strengthened institutional capacity for adaptation' (17%). For SDG 2 the highest contributions relate to Target '2.4 Ensure sustainable agricultural practices for reselience and resource protection' (64%) and Target '2.3 Increase agricultural productivity for small-scale producers' (21%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Improved livestock resilience' (27%) and 'Climate-smart and sustainable agriculture' (27%).
