The first NDC submission of Lebanon contributes the most to SDG 6 'Clean Water and Sanitation' (23%) and SDG 13 'Climate Action' (23%). For SDG 6 contributions relate to Target '6.4 Increase water-use efficiency and sustainable withdrawal - reduce water scarcity' (63%) and Target '6.3 Improve water quality, reduce pollution, increase recycling' (38%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Efficient use of water' (21%) and 'Irrigation improvement' (16%). For SDG 13 contributions relate to Target '13.2 Integrate climate measures in national policy making' (50%) and Target '13.3 Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change issues' (50%). Here, some of the main climate actions are related to 'Mainstreaming' (44%) and 'Strengthened institutional capacity for adaptation' (22%).

The updated NDC submission of Lebanon contributes the most to SDG 15 'Life on Land' (20%) and SDG 14 'Life below Water' (14%). For SDG 15 the highest contributions relate to Target '15.2 Promote sustainable forest management and expansion and halt deforestation' (28%) and Target '15.5 Halt loss of habitat and biodiversity, and prevent species extinction' (28%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Conservation, restoration and rehabilitation of ecosystems' (31%) and 'Forest management' (15%). For SDG 14 the highest contributions relate to Target '14.2 Protect and restore marine and coastal ecosystems' (56%) and Target '14.5 Conserve coastal and marine areas' (33%). Here, the main climate actions are related to 'Coastal management, conservation and rehabilitation' (58%) and 'Resilience of the fishery sector' (17%).
